🖋 Behind the Scenes. Why I Write What I Burn.
The page is the match. The flame is the freedom.
Some people run.
Some people scream.
I write.
Not to make sense of it all—because sometimes, there is no sense.
I write to get it out.
Thoughts, memories, rage, longing, grief, lust, visions.
Like an instinctive detox of the mind through the hands
A purge. A prayer.
A punch to the gut. A kiss on the temple.
This isn’t about writing something beautiful. It’s about flourishing.
The process starts when I stop trying.
I let the hand move faster than the doubt.
I let the words fall out messy, jumbled, sacred.
This is automatic writing—but I call it affinity.
It’s me in motion with something bigger:
The unconscious.
The divine.
The wound.
The muse.
I follow. I execute. I release.
What stirs the ink for me is never logic.
It’s emotion, pure and sharp:
Rage that shakes the bones.
Desire that refuses to wait.
Loss that rewrites your DNA.
The music that splits you open.
The injustice that begs to be spoken.
Death that reminds me, I’m still here.
Some of it gets published.
Some of it gets burned.
And I mean that literally.
There are pieces I write only to destroy. Ritualistically, intentionally.
Not for art, but for alchemy.
Burning what I write is a way of clearing psychic space.
Of composting the emotional debris.
Of planting something new.
Born under a balsamic moon. The dark, fertile void before rebirth.
My rituals are lunar by nature.
I write by moonlight. I burn by by intention. I bury by choice.
During the New Moon,
I write what I want to call in — Words like seeds.
I burn parchment & mix the ashes into the earth’s soil or in potted plants.
If it needs softer surrender.
A flow.
I soak the paper in water in dark sky until the words disappeared by nature’s current.
During the Full Moon, I write what I’m ready to release.
What needs cutting. What’s done.
And I burn those words, too—then I flush them.
They don’t need to root. They need to disappear.
It’s rhythm. It’s reverence. It’s rewilding.
You don’t have to believe in magic to believe in momentum.
